A safe approach to making music in the classroom

The health and safety of our teachers and families are of the utmost importance to all of us at Merry Music Makers. This safety plan has been created in compliance with all state and city guidance to allow us to have a safe, educational, and fun time together!

What may look different?

  • Visual signage posted throughout facilities regarding hygiene and distancing.

  • Staff will frequently disinfect facilities, including instruments, toys, and other surfaces.

  • Doors and windows remain open to increase ventilation, where appropriate.

Upon arrival

  • Please arrive wearing face masks for everyone ages 2+.

  • One family at a time may check-in. If there’s more than one family arriving at a time, a physically distanced line will be formed at the entrance.

  • Check-in will include a temperature check and health screening questionnaire. Because of this, late arrivals at our Andersonville location will not be permitted.

  • Upon entering the classroom, either hand-washing or sanitizing will be required.

  • Each family will store their belonging in their own separate container/cubby.

In the classroom

  • There will be up to a maximum of 5 families in each weekly class.

  • Families will be physically distanced in the classroom using giant, colorful dots.

  • Masks or face shields will be worn inside by all staff and participants above the age of 2, except when eating or drinking.

  • Commonly touched surfaces will be sanitized between classes.

  • Each family will have their own instrument kit that either they will bring from home or a sanitized kit will be provided.

After class

  • One family at a time will be dismissed from the classroom to allow for physical distance in the lobby.

  • Lingering in the lobby areas is not possible right now, because we need to allow for extra cleaning between classes.

  • Classes will be at least 30 minutes apart to allow for sanitization.
